Andy was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, in 1955. After moving to Umtali, he
completed his education up to "A" level. Following his passion for
wildlife, Andy began studying at the University of Natal in 1975 and
completed his BSc in Biological Science three years later.
Andy then expanded his knowledge in the field, working as research
assistant to the Chief Veterinary Officer in the wildlife research
section of the Depart-ment of Veterinary Services. During his two years
as a research assistant, Andy was involved in all aspects of wildlife
management notably capture, translocation and culling of game for
National Parks, as well as research in diseases affecting both game and
livestock.
In 1980, Andy started hunting professionally, starting in Zimbabwe,
followed by Zambia, Central African Republic and, since 1992, Tanzania.
Andy has always wanted to be involved in wildlife and is happy to be
able to pursue a career that has a positive impact on conservation.
