Craig Doria
Born in South Africa in 1962, Craig spent his boarding school vacations in rural KwaZulu-Natal. He schooled at Kearsney College in Natal and went on to complete a BA degree at the University of Natal. Craig then obtained a Higher Diploma of Education and later an Honors degree, and specialized in Environmental Education.
After working on Conservation Education Projects in northern KwaZulu-Natal, Craig and his wife moved to Zambia where they spent over ten years in Luangwa Valley. In Zambia, Craig worked as a Professional Hunter and Professional Guide under the guidance of the well-known conservationist Norman Carr and became a partner in the highly regarded company, Norman Carr Safaris.
Craig moved to Tanzania in 2001. For several years, he was responsible for the Friedkin Conservation Fund, the non-government organization associated with TGTS. He is now a full-time guide and hunter. In addition to his general hunting and natural history experience, Craig specializes in the study of snakes and has written two reference books on the subject.
