Paul was born and raised in South Africa, and at a very early age was introduced to the bush. His father and grandfather were wildlife enthusiasts and spent their holidays fishing and taking safaris into the remote places of South Africa and in Namibia.

Paul decided to make wildlife and nature conservation his career. After his graduation, he obtained his diploma in Nature Conservation at the Pretoria Technikon in South Africa.

Paul has guided safaris in South Africa and in the country of Mozambique. In 2005, he joined Tanzania Game Tracker Safaris as a camp manager. Paul then became a full-time Professional Hunter and guide with the company in 2008. Paul is an enthusiastic fly fisherman and spends his free time stalking trout in the inland waters and fishing along the coastline of Tanzania.
